Junior Ensemble Audition: Friday, Sept. 23th 6-7:30 pm
All Level 8 & 9 ballet/contemporary students are eligible to audition. Dancers will be selected to participate in Junior Ensemble for the 2016-2017 school year. Dancers should wear black leotards, pink convertible tights, clean ballet shoes with hair in a neat bun. NO undergarments showing please. Warm-ups will only be allowed at the beginning of the audition – this includes shorts and skirts. Dancers should arrive 10-15 minutes early to fill out an audition form and pin a number to their leotards. Fern studio will be open at 5:30pm for dancers to warm-up & stretch beforehand.
The audition will consist of a ballet barre, center & across the floor ballet technique, and contemporary choreography. Dancers will be evaluated based on proficiency in technique, consistency, performance quality, and ability to learn combinations quickly. Dancers selected for Junior Ensemble must meet the class requirements listed below.
- Ballet 8 or 9 (twice per week)
- Contemporary 8 or 9
- Saturday Ensemble Class
- and either Pointe 8, Pointe 9, Latin 7/8, Latin 9, -or- Tap 7/8
- OPTIONAL: Saturday Ensemble Pointe (open to Ensemble & Jr. Ensemble)
This makes a total of 5 required classes for Junior Ensemble members. Junior Ensemble will have one additional rehearsal hour on Saturday afternoon. (Exact Schedule TBA)
The panel of judges will consist of Trillium Dance Faculty and Trillium Dance Ensemble members. Each auditioner will receive a set of “judges notes” after the audition. Results will be posted online & in our front window, date at time TBA. Good luck dancers!
